Route and time on site — Geumseoru to the four gates

The main entrance is Geumseoru, the west gate pavilion. Buy tickets there, follow the wall to Gongbukru on the north side above the Geumgang River, then the lotus pond, Manharu, Yeongeunsa, and Gwangbokru, and finish at Jinnamnu (south) and Yeongdongnu (east). One side of the wall path drops away; benches sit along the walk. There are slopes and stairs, so wear shoes with a low heel.

VisitKorea’s published stay is about 2 hours. That matches a photo walk of the 2,660 m wall (stone 1,925 m plus an eastern earth section of 735 m). Shorter “60 to 90 minutes” lap times you may see elsewhere are not the official figure—plan about 2 hours. The city does not publish minute-by-minute splits.

Gongsanseong is Historic Site No. 12 and joined the UNESCO Baekje Historic Areas in July 2015. It was the royal fortress of the Ungjin capital from 475 to 538. The ridge is about 110 m above sea level, with the Geumgang on the north. An estimated palace site sits on the west summit; the grounds cover about 200,000 ㎡ across Geumseong-dong and Sanseong-dong. Ssangsujeong is tied to the name Ssangsusanseong, used after King Injo stayed here during the Yi Gwal rebellion in 1624.

Getting there by car or city bus

For a car, set the nav to 280 Ungjin-ro (Geumseong-dong). The lot line is also listed as Geumseong-dong 65-3. Parking is free for both cars and buses. The city pages do not publish capacity or say whether you should park by Geumseoru or Gongbukru. On weekends, arrive early.

From Gongju intercity terminal, take city bus 101 or 125. Interval, fare, and the exact stop name are not on the official pages, so they are not listed here. Check a bus app or the terminal on the day you travel. Timed transfers from express buses or KTX are also absent from those pages—do not treat a guessed minute count as fact. There is no subway.

Wheelchair and stroller rental are not listed, and the main entrance may have a step. If you are visiting with a toddler or someone who has trouble with stairs, call +82-41-856-7700 before you go.

Costs — admission and the three-site ticket

Adults pay ₩3,000, or ₩2,500 in a group of 20 or more. Middle- and high-school students and soldiers pay ₩2,000 (group ₩1,500); elementary students pay ₩1,000 (group ₩500). A group of 20 is not free—it pays the discounted rate. Visitors aged 65 and over, people with disabilities, and preschoolers are admitted free under the city note; bring a senior card if you have one. Resident discounts conflict across city pages. The 10 scenic views page offers 50% off for Onnuri Gongju-citizen members, while a notes cell on the fee table mentions free entry mixed in with parking and closure text. Do not assume Gongju citizens are always free. Call +82-41-856-7700.

Visitor Individual Group (20+)
Adult (ages 19–64) ₩3,000 ₩2,500
Teen (middle/high school) and soldiers ₩2,000 ₩1,500
Child (elementary) ₩1,000 ₩500

The combined ticket covers the Royal Tombs in Songsan-ri (King Muryeong), Gongsanseong, and Seokjangni Museum. Buy it at the first site you enter. Adults pay ₩6,000 (group ₩5,000). Teens pay ₩4,000 individual / ₩3,000 group; children pay ₩2,000 / ₩1,000. Three separate adult tickets cost ₩9,000, so the combined ticket saves ₩3,000. Two sites only cost ₩3,000 × 2 = ₩6,000, the same as the combined ticket—no saving.

Adult Amount
Gongsanseong only ₩3,000
Three sites, separate ₩9,000
Combined (tombs + fortress + Seokjangni) ₩6,000
Two sites only ₩6,000 (same as combined)

A simple day budget

Bus fares and meals are not published on the pages used here, so they stay out of the total. What is fixed on site is the ticket and parking. One adult at the fortress only: ₩3,000, parking ₩0. Two adults and one elementary child at the fortress only: 3,000 + 3,000 + 1,000 = ₩7,000. The same three people on combined tickets for all three sites: 6,000 × 2 + 2,000 = ₩14,000. Bought as separate tickets that would be 9,000 × 2 + 3,000 = ₩21,000. The ticket office is 041-840-2265. Follow on-site rules for card payment.
