Route and time on site — cedar path to the tea vista

A practical loop starts on the cedar / windbreak forest path near the entrance, continues through the bamboo grove after the ticket gate, then climbs stairs and walkways to the green tea overlook. VisitKorea lists the same sequence in its activities notes. Expect hills and stairs—wear comfortable shoes. Stroller rental is not listed, so with a toddler it is safer to carry or keep the loop short.

Allow about 1–2 hours. With photos and the lookout, around 2 hours is comfortable. No official minute-by-minute dwell time is published, so do not treat “exactly N minutes” as a locked figure. On clear days the outlook near about 350 m can open toward the sea.

Order Segment Notes
1 Cedar / cypress windbreak Entrance → ticket
2 Bamboo grove Shade and photos
3 Tea-field stairs and paths Uphill
4 Outlook (~350 m) Sea view on clear days

Getting there by car, bus, or train

By car, enter Boseong-eup via the Honam / Namhae corridor, then follow National Route 18 to Daehan Dawon. Nav search: “Daehan Dawon” or “Boseong green tea plantation.” Official and tourism pages split the street number as 763-65 vs 763-67, so searching by place name is less confusing than forcing one digit.

Intercity buses serve Boseong from Seoul, Gwangju, Suncheon, Mokpo, and other cities. Gwangju–Boseong is often quoted around 1 hour 30 minutes, Suncheon–Boseong around 50 minutes—but intervals and travel times change by day. Boseong Terminal: +82-61-852-2777. Trains run Yongsan / Gwangju / Suncheon ↔ Boseong Station; check live Korail times for frequency and duration.

If you see a Gwangju ↔ Daehan Dawon stop timetable on the official site, note that the table is labeled as of November 2021. Do not treat those clock times as current for 2026. Recheck the Boseong Terminal or intercity-bus apps for your travel date. The stop sits on the main road at the plantation entrance: for buses toward Boseong-eup, cross under the overpass on the left; Yulpo / southbound stops are to the right.

Tips and season — April–May and the tea festival

The best season is April–May, when the fresh flush and vivid green photograph well. You can visit year-round, but winter closes at 17:00—do not arrive late in the afternoon. In summer, no entry after 18:00. Official notes also mention a summer exit window as late as 19:00 for guests already inside; follow on-site staff for any extended stay.

The 2026 Boseong Dahyang Tea Festival runs 1–5 May 2026 around the Korea Tea Culture Park (near Nokcha-ro 775). The festival grounds are not automatically the same as the paid Daehan Dawon ticket area. Check Boseong-gun notices for programs and any separate tickets; keep a plantation ticket plan as usual.

Drones are banned in visitor guidance. Bring water, a hat, and sturdy shoes for the stairs. Drama and film locations are mentioned in tourism copy, but the core walk remains forest path → tea vista. Hours, fees, and buses can change for maintenance or events—recheck the official guide and +82-61-852-4540 just before you leave.
